Credit Collections
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyzes Accounts Receivable Aging reports and reserve worksheets for customers.
- Analyzes and monitors the cash-on-account activity and assists in negotiating resolutions with customers.
- Identifies and monitors billings and collection activity including customer follow-up to expedite collection of past due balances to minimize credit risk and delinquency.
- Reviews customer credit and financial information to assist with recommendations for credit worthiness, including credit limits. Assists with monitoring granted credit limits to ensure compliance.
- Maintains and organizes customer files to ensure accurate, detailed, up-to-the-minute information is sourced in one location.
- Effectively communicates and enforces credit and collections policies and procedures with external parties and internal Station Sales, Media Ad Sales, Digital Ad Sales and Contract Administration department personnel.
- Researches customer discrepancies and disputes, escalating issues or concerns to management, with a focus on tactfully resolving disputes in order to maintain positive customer relationships where possible.
- Assists in establishing and refining credit and collections procedures, ensuring that documented Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) processes are adhered to when completing job responsibilities.
- Performs special projects and creates ad-hoc reconciliations/schedules as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- BA/BS degree in Accounting preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.
- Must be able to work well under limited supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, in addition to having the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with external customers and internal departments.
- Strong organizational skills required.
- SAP experience a plus.
- Must be able to work overtime if and when necessary.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to clearly document procedures and articulate (both written and verbal) findings to management and third-parties.
- Must be a team player with the ability to work with staff at different organization levels across business units.
- Must have the ability to work well under pressure and with changing priorities.
- Must possess strong analytical skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of management and other levels of personnel.
- Must have the ability to organize and schedule work effectively in order to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
- Must be a motivated self-starter, able to work independently.
